CAPTAIN
CAPTAIN reimagines the visual world of Captain, the gold-certified single by Geneva artist Danitsa, one of her most-streamed tracks, as a study of perception. Working as a team, we translated the song's tension through the senses. Sight, hearing and touch become the channels through which a single individual is watched, heard and held. The identity fractures a human face into isolated panels: an eye, a mouth, a gaze and a hand, recombined like evidence on a black ground in a palette of surveillance green, cold violet and alert red. That grammar carries into motion. Sight: a lone figure stands framed in a glowing green doorway, encircled by stacked monitors that each return a single unblinking eye. The eyes then detach and drift across the dark as a silent audience, while a stylised eye sweeps its beam like a searchlight. Hearing: a colossal mouth hangs suspended in violet, transforming a voice into a monumental presence. Touch: a body sits pinned inside a red field as disembodied hands reach in to grasp it. A neon portal opens onto scale and disappearance, and a figure falls weightlessly through nothing. Ultimately, the project offers a brutalist, editorial reading of exposure and sensory overload, built to make you feel watched before a single note plays. It won its competition and took us to the Montreux Jazz Festival, where we shadowed the festival's production teams.
